The Space
It's said that when one door closes another one opens. Last week we closed the door to our beloved jam space in Adam's basement. The lease was up and we were left to find somewhere new. We departed with a sense of apprehension knowing that a new location would shift our dynamic; the jam space is everything.
Without realizing it we had become very attached to the space. The room held the energy, memories, frustrations, fresh starts and roller-coaster experiences of creating and growing our dear band. It was the recording studio for our demo. A beloved dumping ground for beer cans, honest words and personal struggles. The scene for new collaborations, creative kinship and light bulb moments. The first notes of our new songs bounced off of those walls, and the commitment to make music we love was born there. We were comfortable there.
So as we say goodbye and take our efforts into a new landscape we'll once again move out of our comfort zone. And supporting one another as we step outside of our comfort zones is what drives the music we create. Guess it was time to go after all.
